About this project

The best-known fork of sm64-port, on the same decompilation. It adds an options menu with button remapping, custom texture packs, an optional analog camera with mouse look, OpenGL 1.3, OpenGL 2.1, Direct3D 11 and Direct3D 12 renderers, an option to remove draw distances, model and texture fixes, a cheats menu and saves that work with emulators. New work lands on its nightly branch first. No downloads: you build it from source.

What you need

Your own Super Mario 64 ROM for the assets, and the build tools from its wiki (MSYS2 on Windows).

About this project

The original native PC port of Super Mario 64, built on the n64decomp matching decompilation: the game's own C code compiles for Windows and Linux, with the N64's graphics drawn by Emill's n64-fast3d-engine. It plays the whole game as it was, and it's the base sm64ex and Render96ex build on. No downloads: you build it from source.

What you need

Your own Super Mario 64 ROM (US, Japanese or European) for the assets, and MSYS2 on Windows or the usual build tools on Linux.

About this project

The Render96 team's fork of sm64ex, on the same decompilation, made for their remake packs: after building it you add the Render96 model pack (through DynOS) and HD texture pack, which replace the game's models and textures with high-detail versions. It keeps sm64ex's options menu, renderers and mouse camera. No downloads: you build it from source.

What you need

Your own Super Mario 64 ROM (US) for the assets, the build tools from its wiki, and the Render96 model and texture packs, added after building.
